Andrew Pearce’s chosen medium is responsibly milled, gorgeously turned wood. Andrew Pearce’s wooden bowls stand out for their hand-hewn essence, and they are made from two of the warmest, most luxurious toned woods: black walnut and cherry, which offer Andrew a color range from light blonde to earthen red, to dark brown. Andrew Pearce’s selective vision for woodworking includes not just the wood itself, but also the tools and techniques used to manipulate it. He specifically designed the machinery used to make his creations, and his design process produces minimal waste. Even sourcing is a conscious effort. Andrew Pearce logs are provided by responsible loggers in NY, PA, and VT, who seek to leave a minimal impact on forests. Cutting, kiln-drying, turning, sanding, and finishing are all conducted by hand by artisans in the artists' Hartland, Vermont workshop.

After being expertly shaped, Andrew Pierce lets the beauty of natural wood shine by avoiding artificial coatings.
