In The Spotlight With Temple St. Clair

Temple St. Clair’s design process is a harmonious blend of storytelling and meticulous craftsmanship, beginning with inspiration drawn from her travels, history, and the natural world.

Temple St. Clair launched her jewelry brand in 1986 in Florence, Italy, where she began working with the revered Florentine goldsmiths' guild. Known for her unique storytelling through design, Temple’s work is a beautiful marriage of ancient craftsmanship and contemporary vision. Her iconic pieces—Rock Crystal Amulets, signature triple granulation, and extraordinary gemstone combinations—are celebrated for their intricate beauty and innovative style.

In 2017, St. Clair became the third American—and the only American woman—jewelry designer to have her work included in the permanent collection of the Louvre’s Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris. Her creations are cherished by collectors worldwide, known for their use of rare gemstones and deep symbolic meaning.

But beyond the shimmer of gold and gemstones, Temple St. Clair’s work holds a deeper meaning. A passionate advocate for conservation, she uses her jewelry as a platform to support environmental efforts. St. Clair’s collaboration with the Big Life Foundation, an organization focused on preserving the East African ecosystem, is a testament to her commitment. Particularly in the Kilimanjaro-Amboseli-Tsavo area, Big Life works to protect both the wildlife and local communities, fostering a harmonious balance between the two.

This fall, St. Clair’s dedication to both artistry and nature takes center stage with the launch of her Arcadia Collection. Drawing inspiration from her travels through Kenya, the collection introduces new creatures—Twiga (giraffe), Kifaru (rhinoceros), Tembo (elephant), and Simba (lion)—immortalized in golden portraits that pay homage to the majestic wildlife of the Amboseli ecosystem. Each piece reflects Temple’s intimate connection with these animals and her respect for the natural world.
